What it Looks Like Here

What it Feels Like to be Here

At the present time, with our existing part-time ministry, we are able to open the church on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

We are hopeful that in the future this will increase.

A Place Apart

Holy Trinity Church, on busy Bay Street Port Melbourne, offers a place apart from the hurley-burley of daily life.

Quiet

We live in an atmosphere of constant noise and there are very few places today that we can escape from this.

Holy Trinity Parish Church can offer a delightfully peaceful retreat – a quiet place.

Peace

In the middle of the Eucharistic liturgy, the Greeting of Peace is extended to the congregation:

“We are the Body of Christ
His peace is with us
The Peace of the Lord be always with you.”

This promise is available to all who seek it.

Prayer

God calls us to pray constantly.

Holy Trinity Church, Port Melbourne, offers a place apart, in which to pray.

There are many ways for us to pray. Jesus taught us “The Lord’s Prayer”: the Our Father.

Come in and pray for those in need, your loved ones, the community, the world and its problems, but mostly for yourself, and in all this give thanks to God for abundant blessings.

Rest

Jesus said:
“Come to me all who labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.”

Holy Trinity Church offers a place to just sit and rest our tired and stressed bodies.

Light a Candle

Jesus is “The Light of the World”.

You are invited to light a candle which represents your prayer and is a physical reminder to all who see it that this is a place of prayer.

The flame of the lighted candle provides a focus for our deepest thoughts, needs and hopes.

Reflection

A place of peace and quiet allows us to reflect on our lives and especially our present situation with our needs, desires and aspirations…

Holy Trinity Church can offer the atmosphere to enable this to happen.

Sanctuary

Jesus regularly went apart from his followers, to a place of sanctuary such as the Garden of Gesthemane, the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Transfiguration and the Sea of Gallilee.

Holy Trinity Church offers this ‘place apart‘ as we all need a place of sanctuary at certain times in our life.
