Pat Grainger was well-known to many in Port Melbourne for her community involvement, activism, and campaigning for the suburb over many years. She was a key member of the group that formed the Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation Society and lent her design skills to many community activities and events. Pat died on March 19 and a celebration of her life is being held at the Port Melbourne Town Hall on May 13, 11.30 am – 2 pm. RSVP to Jill Dawson, jaydaw@hotmail.com. This will be an opportunity to socialise, reminisce and admire Pat’s contribution to community and civic life since settling in Station Street in 1983.
