THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SHEPHERD’S CROOK (From Bishop Paul White’s sermon last Sunday – Good Shepherd Sunday)
Last Sunday, Bishop Paul White spoke about the significance of the shepherd’s crook. His own crook is a real shepherd’s crook from the United Kingdom. The main points that Bishop Paul elaborated on (Reprinted with Bishop Paul’s permission):
The shepherd’s crook is one that: 1. Rescues 2. Enlightens us (as with the lamp hanging on the end of the crook) 3. Leads us 4. Defends us 5. Protects us 6. Anchors us 7. Supports the shepherd when he’s tired from looking out for his sheep all day 8. What a shepherd!!
